Camille Labonté is a compelling and versatile soprano, music educator, and choral conductor based in Toronto, Canada.

Equally at home in both traditional and contemporary repertoire, she is recognized for her musical sensitivity and captivating stage presence. One of Canada’s most promising emerging young artists, Camille was a prize-winner of the 49th annual Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition in Voice. 

On the operatic stage, her credits include Lucia (The Rape of Lucretia),  Prima Donna (Viva la Mamma!), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Cathleen (Riders to the Sea), Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), Frasquita (Carmen), and Poppea (L’incoronazione di Poppea). Her world premiere performances include Antigone in With the Telling Comes the Magic and Anna Massey in Avenue of Avarice. Camille has also been involved in the workshop and creation of new operatic works by Canadian composers Cecilia Livingston and Danika Lorèn. Past concert appearances include soprano solos in Carmina Burana with the Bergmann Duo and TorQ Percussion (Stratford Summer Music), Messiah (York Chamber Ensemble) and Considering Matthew Shepard (Concreamus).

Equally passionate about choral music, Camille is currently entering her 7th season with the Mississauga Children’s Choir, where she conducts the ensemble Training Choir, and in 2024, directed the children’s chorus for Puccini’s Tosca in collaboration with the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra. Camille has sung countless premieres of new Canadian choral works, including as the soprano soloist in the world premiere of Erik Kreem’s Shear Modulus with Modern Sound Collective’s chamber choir, Concreamus. In 2024, she hosted and co-curated  Pax Christi Chorale’s performances of Children’s Messiah.

In the summer of 2026, she will perform as the soprano soloist in Carmina Burana with the Elmer Iseler Singers, and enjoy residencies at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity and the Académie Francis Poulenc (Tours, FR). A graduate of the University of Toronto, Camille holds a B.Mus with honours in Vocal Performance and will graduate in June 2026 with an M.Mus in Opera Performance.
